Guys, as long as you live in Batam until now, do you even know where the water you use everyday come from? Well guys, I am telling you that reservoirs are the sources of your water need as long as you are staying in this island. So far, they’re actually BIDA’s made. BIDA stands for Batam Industrial Development Authority. It’s one of state institution which has authority of Batam development includes providing an enough water sources for all people of Batam.

Everybody of us know that population of people always increase from one time to time in Batam that it’s definitely never stops. This condition really makes the needs of water also higher and higher from year to year. To balance the supply, BIDA really have to struggle in making new reservoirs for us. So far, I know there’re six reservoirs which supplying us fresh water managed by a company; it’s Adhya Tirta Batam (ATB).

Sei Ladi

The first is Duriangkang reservoir, the biggest one.
The second is Sei Ladi reservoir.
The third is Muka Kuning reservoir to supply Muka Kuning area and surrounds.
The fourth is Waduk Baloi or Baloi reservoir in Baloi.
The fifth is Sei Harapan reservoir (Waduk Sei Harapan in Sekupang)
The last is Waduk Nongsa or Nongsa reservoir in Nongsa area.

Those six reservoirs are the main key for supplying us fresh water in this island. We have to efficient in using water, guys. Why? To avoid scarcity specially in the dry season, of course. Even there’re enough water resources but we have to think more wisely for ourselves in the future needs.[end]
